Brennecke's Beach Broiler
Situated atop a two story building across from Poipu Beach Park, Brenneke's attracts a lively crowd. It's a favorite
for kiawe grilled fish, steaks, kebobs, and hamburgers. Check out the happy hour dinner specials.
Casa Blanca at Kiahuna
One of our favorite restaurants is at the recently renovated Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club. The open air layout is inviting,
with a relaxed sophistication, and the food is fabulous with a Mediterranean flair. Go for either lunch or dinner for quality
and value.
Casa Di Amici
We don't usually think of Italian food in Hawaii, but Casa Di Amici, located near Poipu Beach Park, has created a very
enticing menu with most of the Italian classics plus some Asian influenced dishes. There is piano music on Friday and Saturday.
Dondero's
Another Italian restaurant in Poipu is at The Hyatt. Over looking the ocean with frescos and marble, the scene is set
for a memorable meal. As would be expected, it's pricey, but excellent.
Keoki's Paradise
Just across the street from Kiahuna, in the Poipu Shopping Village, is Keoki's Paradise. We always seem to go here on
our first night. It's lively with a polynesian atmosphere, serving many local fish with your choice of preparation method
and sauce. Don't forget your coupon for Hula Pie (in the coupon booklet you get at check-in). They're big enough to pass
around the table. Music on Thursday and Friday Nights.
Plantation Gardens Restaurant
Located in the historic Moir home in Kiahuna Plantation, The Plantation Gardens Restaurant is in a lovely setting amongst
orchid gardens, ponds, and the unique Moir Cactus Garden. The fare is Pacific rim and is excellent.
Roy's Poipu Bar and Grill
A chain it is, a McDonalds it isn't. Roy Yamaguchi's excellence in this varied menu is definitely worth sampling. The
recipes swing from Asia to Europe creating a "best of all worlds" experience. It is located in the Poipu Shopping
Village, across from Kiahuna Plantation.
The Beach House
Get an early reservation at the Beach House to get a table by the window, where you can watch the surfers and the sunset.
The menu is full of gourmet dishes with local fish and Kauai produce. Always a favorite for a special dinner. Located on
Lawai Rd.
Tidepool Restaurant
With Polynesian style thatched roofs, surrounded by ponds of koi, swans, and waterfalls, The Tidepools, on the lower level
of the Hyatt, is a romantic spot. If anyone is hard of hearing, don't sit by the waterfall, or you won't be able to carry
on a conversation. The food and service are excellent, also an great spot for a special meal out.
